"...He also told investigators his wife had packed his bag."

Legal Separation, Saudi-style.

He also told investigators his wife had packed his bag.

At last, at least ONE occurrence of a situation where the "Did anyone other than yourself pack your bags?" question would have been applicable.

I think the feller was doing some testing. Nail him to the wall.

It would have done more for aircraft safty to shoot the man instead of asking him why and what and whatever, If he has stuff in his lugguge that he doesnt know about, TOO BAD, he still is the one responsible for it, and if indeed he had no clue of how it got there, he still put at risk all the other passengers on the plane,

Stop this Racial Profiling. Now!

Stop it!

The crayons were just that - crayons.

Just because he has a Muslim name, he was being discriminated against.

This is a pure outrage.

Bush HAS to go!

A Saudi man was charged on Monday for carrying firecrackers in carry-on luggage on a plane from Germany,

You mean security failed ? Good heavens what is next ??

"three small firecracker-type explosive or incendiary devices

Hopefully,Someone is checking inside these to make sure they are what they look like.

A crayon sized piece of modern explosives can still do some pretty good damage to an aircraft in flight.

I'd imagine that even a small incendiary device stowed inside luggage could produce a raging fire in the cargo bay. A bundle of greasy rags wrapped around the device could start an unstoppable fire inside the aircraft at altitude.

Do modern passenger jets even have Halon extinguishers in the cargo compartment?

Our Aerospace Freepers may be able to answer this question.

He told authorities at Boston's Logan International Airport that he was one a business trip and that the devices -- tubes about 1.5 inches long -- were artist crayons,

Then what are those fuses for?
