The link from civets to humans (I thought) was established last May. The Chinese are a little behind on this one. Here's a pic.

Actually, a civet is not a cat but a "Viverrid"; this is the family which also includes mongooses.

Civet musk gland secretions are used as fixatives in many expensive perfumes.
