Hello? Is this thing on?
I find it interesting/disappointing that I received several replies to my view on how to handle the invading illegals, but nothing in regards to my post giving a reality check on contacting members of congress!

That post is solid and sincere information of the type FReeper's need to forward, or print out and distribute at meetings.
Making an effort to contact congress on issues is good, making the contact effective is vital!
Ineffective contacts too often lead to resentment as the constituent does not get a reply, or otherwise see that his issue is being addressed.
Then we end up with another disillusioned and bitter former activist who gives up and mutters darkly about how all politicians are just republicrats.

We need to see some success to keep people in the fight, the more effective our efforts are the more victories we will have.

I'm told that, generally speaking, most members of Congress read their faxes, and take phone calls.

E-Mails are a bit more problematic, but that is why I encouraged people to call/phone/and fax to make sure the Congressmen get the message.
