If you could hear the call in shows here in Phoenix you would be surprised at the wrath. I was shocked the first time I heard just how angry people are. There was a local show about a month ago focused on the work centers for illegals that are popping up. (Which they don't use incidentally)

When I said base I actually meant what is considered the far right. Whacko right, at this point. Anyone who believes in, to quote Savage, borders, language and culture.(I don't think these are whacko concepts but it is getting to the point where most people do). That is lower than 40 percent and whoever handles Bush, I think, is convinced they don't need these votes. Or they don't need most of them.

we have those "work centers" here in the northeast too, but those using them are day laborers, and are definetely off the books, they are not working "regular" jobs and paying SS.

riri,

Polling data consistantly show that a large majority of the population is very distressed over Illegal Immigration.

If Karl Rove is thinking that the Majority of voters are "right wingers" to be written off, then it is "back to Crawford" January 20, 2005.

The local talk shows are being driven by Arbitron ratings. Since the Fall of Baghdad and the capture of Saddam, the Illegal Alien issue is front and center in the public's mind.
