I think this is the core of the hatred. The "humiliation" of Israel's success in contrast to the squalor of the Arab world (with the exception of the oil rich, who owe their prosperity to Western technology and commerce). Of course if the "Palestinians" succeeded in destroying Israel they would just add a few acres to their desolate empire.

Limited government, economic freedom, and rule of law would allow Arabs to prosper. Stalinism/Arafatism never will.
