Bush is a man of great courage and wisdom:
By committing the United States to rebuilding Iraq into a country of law, order and democracy – a beacon of light to a region shrouded in the darkness of despotism – the president launched America's most ambitious and idealistic project since the Marshall Plan to reconstruct war-devastated Europe.
Plainly, he might not succeed in this risk-fraught mission. Even if he does, that victory over terrorism will not come during his presidency, perhaps not even during his lifetime, and then only after a long, hard slog for America and her people, especially those men and women under arms. But this almost certain guarantee that the fruits of his fight won't be his to savor only clarifies the nobility of Mr. Bush's undertaking.

Mr./Ms. F - welcome to FR (I guess?!). I see you just joined today! Yep! You sure can joke at President Bush's gaffs if you want...but I'm betting you NEVER hear him say, "Ah did not have sex with that woman...Miz Lewinsky". Or, "Ah did not inhale". Or the ever-popular, "It depends on the meaning of what "is" is." BTW, those are the three (and ONLY three) quotes from Slick that are in Bartlett's Book of Quotations. Compared to, "Ask not what your country can do for you..." by Kennedy. There seems to have been some slippage in the quality of Democratic presidents.
Now, run along and play with your other useful idiot friends...O.K.?

For reasons known only to God, all 5 of the biggest papers in Texas are liberal and none support Bush. Sometimes they print things like this to confuse us! ;-)
