Experts say truly mainstream Islam in America forbids suicide bombings and moderate American Islamic groups like the Islamic Supreme Council of America vehemently denounce and oppose such teachings as abhorrent and heretical.

Even if it is true, it is dubious if "mainstream Islam in America" is the "mainstream Islam". Those experts should travel to the real Muslim countries to persuade their populations.

I don't know if you've read much of the Quran...the jury is out rather there is much of a "mainstream" Islam. There seems to be a smallish radical element...a large "moderate" element that tacitly agrees with the radicals and another smallish liberal Islamic group who denounce the first 2 groups.
