The Great Chief Powhatan, Pocahontas, George Washington, James Madison, Martha Custis, Patrick Henry, Henry Clay, Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, Nathaniel Bacon [just to name a few] all left their marks on the land in Eastern Virginia as well as the rest of the country.
Tappahannock is not far from the place of our nation's birth [obviously IMHO Plymouth Rock does not count.]
ANY attack on a small Tidewater Virginia town would be an attack on the memories and spirits of those who gave so much to give us this great nation. Just My Humble Opinion.
To: Protect the Bill of Rights
I've been thinking about this since it was first reported and I guess I'm not convinced yet that U.S. history plays a roll in target selection. Almost any county along the east coast can tie itself back to some founding historical point.
There has to be another reason for Tappahannock to be mentioned.
