There are , of course, many reasons for disliking trial lawyers. This is one of them. Religious people would tend to focus on what is morally right and wrong in an issue. For a trial lawyer this can be very scary-- and not very profitable

Couldn't they just use voter party affiliation and get on with it?

I actually enjoy jury duty, I seem to go thru the vetting process rather easily (I must be bland!). Anyway it occurs @ every 18 months and I enjoy visiting the county seat (Woodbury NJ - settled in 1600 something). Last trail we sent a pedophile away for 3 life times.....

Disgusting but not surprising. The lack of a sense of personal responsibilty is the cornerstone of the parasitic trial lawyer industry. That's why they are the natural ally of the DNC; they exploit the growing sense of amorality among potential jurors that the DNC has done much to create. I guess if I ever get called for jury duty, I'll just wear my crucifix outside my shirt. Then they can dismiss me without even talking to me, and save us all a lot of time.

It worked for me last year. A defendant was trying to beat a drunk-driving ticket. I said I didn't drink (they couldn't believe it). Then I said I did it for religious reasons. I was excused 2 minutes later.
