A man trying to prove that Doritos snack chips are dangerous will have to do it without the help of a retired University of Pittsburgh chemistry professor.

Charles R. Grady filed a product liability suit against Plano, Texas-based Frito-Lay in 1995, claiming his throat was damaged because of the rigid texture and triangular shape of the corn chips.

Each Dorito should be individually labeled with FDA approved chewing instructions.

But extrapolating from recent court decisions, teenage girls can eat them without their parent's knowledge or consent.

If the evil Dorito is so dangerous, where are the many other injured Dorito eaters that must have been maimed in the last eight years since this silly suit was filed? I cannot believe grown-ups are in a court of law arguing this case with a straight face.

Their faces aren't straight . . .

they are pierced with numerous holes by the Doritos such that drool is constantly oozing out all over their legal papers and causing them to go around life with bags over their heads. Haven't you noticed?

In the interest of science, I just fed a Dorito chip to my dog (don't tell PETA -- they hate animal testing). He was smart enough to chew it until he could swallow it, which he did without incident.

Do you think I should file a Friend of the Court brief on behalf of the Frito-Lay people?

I remember when Dorito bags had clear plastic on the front so you could see the contents. Around the mid-90s they stopped producing the clear panel bags. The timing as related to the study in question makes me think that Frito-Lay knows the Dorito is dangerous and implemented a cover-up to keep the truth from coming out.

Did the same test, the dog was smart enough to chew but beware... Doritos + Dog = open the window.

Wow, the Pa. Supreme Court actually ruled against a trial lawyer. That must have been a science fair project.

I'd be interested to see a breakdown of the total cost we taxpayers have incurred so far on this issue. Judges don't work cheap, I'm told.
