Further to this point: What about the "busting curfew" aspect of this deal...?
At any rate, if the coach has any "huevos" at all, he would bust the punk QB and toss his a** off the squad -- just on principle.
By doing so, he would have at least sent a message that the current NCAA concept of college football operations is nothing other than a full cave to financial interests at all levels of the collegiate experience.
I do not have my hopes up. I will conclude by noting that college football at Miami University under Ara in '52 and '53 was a whole different world. We received meals and lodging for playing, but worked in the dining rooms to make it legit. No other perks !!
End of story. No broads, cars or money. Just a letter and a sweater...and some great fun, beating Cincy on Thanksgiving weekend !!! Alas, a million light years in the past...but what an incredible period in our National History !! Shame you youngsters missed it.

Um let's see. Super star QB for university. Could probably have any woman he wanted. Could have 10 women a night if he wanted.
Do you honestly think he is going to risk ruining his career for some tail that is probably average compared to what he could get?

Would he risk his career for sex? Are you kidding? Athletes do it frequently.

I lived in Auburn 1954-55. My uncle worked for the College Creamery and would let me go on deliveries. Being 10, it gave me a chance to see my gridiron heroes up close. They were working in the dining halls. Coach Jordan believed in discipline, and players were expected to earn their keep.
Those were the days. No showboats, no thugs, just hard-nosed men playing as one.
From my vantage point, nothing destroys a team faster than having different rules for different players.
