Huh? The Iraq war opposition was solely due to domestic reasons (pacifist voters mainly in East Germany) - and it was the only security issue the Federal Republic of Germany disagreed with the US on since its foundation. It´s just logical that Germany is an aim of terrorism, except Iraq, it stands close to the US (Afghanistan, anti-terror-laws, prosecution of terrorists, naval missions at Somali coast line, guarding US facilities in Germany by German soldiers, having contributed to Israels protection during Iraq war, ...).

The reasons why Germany did not support (or openly tried to undermine) US efforts in Iraq are irrelevant. No one in the US cares "why" just that Germany did what they did.
