I dispise the video-sewage that comprises most of what comes out of Sleazy-Wood for the last many many years, but I ventured out to see Cold Mountain today. I sat stunned to the very end of the credits ... it was just that good.
I didn't think they had any of that degree of human sensibility remaining in that town. IMO they only briefly wandered over toward the gratuitous sex-button for less than 60 sec in the whole film.
It is a heart-felt, soulful film.
If you liked ENGLISH PATIENT, you will like COLD MOUNTAIN...
I have to admit that I got bored watching ENGLISH PATIENT.
