A man charged with smuggling two teenage girls from India for a wealthy Berkeley landlord by posing as their father will spend two months in prison.

Venkateswara Vemireddy, 33, allegedly posed as the father of the two girls, one of whom died of carbon monoxide poisoning in 1999. Her death prompted an investigation that led to an eight-year prison term for Berkeley landlord Lakireddy Bali Reddy following his conviction on charges of transporting minors for illegal sexual activity, conspiring to commit immigration fraud and filing a false tax return.

Let's compare the way Vemireddy was punished with this poor soul. What an injustice!

I get the feeling that this guy should actually get the skinning knife and salt treatment.

Interesting.
A guy licks someone's foot and gets 18 months in jail.
Another guy smuggles a person into a country who then dies of carbon monoxide poisoning and gets merely 2 months.
Since she was going to be asex slave, saying that the foot licker got a hasrher sentence due to the sexual nature of his crime is bogus.

Must be because the foot licker's victim didn't die that he got the harsher sentence.

How odd. The only thing I can think of is that he's co-operating with the authorities in order to catch others.

Justice was NOT served here. The licking guy gets jail? Good grief, wash your feet and get over it. But the monster who forced girls into slavery got a few months? The jail time probably wasn't for sexual slavery and kidnapping, it was because the IRS didn't get their pound off the top. It goes to show that the left is not all that concerned about slavery. They are more concerned with bashing the US for something that ocurred hundreds of years ago which was put ight, than knowing how evil it is and fighting to stop present slavery around the world... Liberals, bah - humbug!

I love the saying "Rape is about control/power." Please, it is definately about sex. I remember a repeat offender wanted to be castrated so that he would not rape again.

I think it should actually be done by the victim, no pain killers/etc. Strap the offender nude in a chair, have the victim come up and get the offender excited, then take a small sledge hammer to the offender's genitals.

Could even record the punishment and show it on tv or in schools, that would make people think about even thinking about raping someone.

If the guy licked someone's feet that have athletes foot, would he have athletes mouth? Not washing your feet would keep someone like this from doing it you.

Here in the People's Republic of New Jersey there was a case not long ago, where a police officer took an hour lunch when it should have been a half hour then went and parked the car he said he was on patrol. In other words he falsified his report. No one was hurt there were no calls and this poor guy is looking at ten years in the can. Furthermore, the area that he was patrolling on the grave yard shift is a great area where there is literally no crime. Lastly this sentencing sets a real bad precedent. Because here in New Jersey we have a case pending against the Russian Mob for this very crime and my heart goes out to these girls.

Oh yes.
NJ, home of DYFS and Megan's Law.
A drug dealer gets less time than that cop got, and they were looking to give a farmer more time in jail for killing a rabid rat with a broomstick than a guy who robs and murders someone.
NJ also ID'd the more dangerous sex offenders in Avenel.
(They can identify the guys who aren't likely to ever commit a crime again. There are also the guys who are in there due to girlfriends getting upset with them and 'punishing' them by crying rape. Those guys usually suffer complete nervous breakdowns while in there, and try to commit suicide.)
They paroled a few of the guys known to be dangerous, and waited for them to commit more crimes.
The guy who murdered Megan Kanka, he'd told the people in charge that his only mistake was letting his victim live and that next time he'd kill the victim.
He was released, and did just as he'd said.
Thus, Megan's Law was an artificially created and justified law.
New Jersey is King on setting bad precedent.
The NJ justice system has been screwed up for years, since well before I moved from there, and isn't likely to straighten out any time soon.
Good luck on the Mob case your way.
Regards from across the border in Enemy Occupied New Yorkistan.

In 2000, Vemireddy pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to illegally bring aliens into the country. U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken sentenced him on Dec. 22 to two months in prison.

Just enough time to seem like 'punishment' without being really punishing, and plenty of time to establish contacts on the inside who might need his special talents. Disgusting. Revolting. Only in Berkeley.
