I am convinced that more than a few of these posters are "plants" from FR. Their intent is to get the most outrageous statements in print (and to garner on-the-record support for such eye-poppers) so that DU and the Dim Party will become inseparable in the eyes of the general public from these outlandish positions.

Seriously, I know there are FR posters over there incognito, but believe me, if any of them are doing what you are suggesting, they got the idea from seeing some of the outlandish things that were typically said over there anyway.

Actually, I used to troll there just to try to goad them into looking like even bigger idiots. I'd take a standard leftist position and carry it just ever so slightly to the left, just before it hit the ridiculous mark and then see who'd take the bait and carry it across the goal line. ;)
