Who needs engineers to design stuff which won't be made? That's where Bush's new cis-lunar space initiative comes in. If the program is big enough to matter there should be a boom in enrollment at technical schools. Not that any of the 300,000 laid off during Nixon's admin would want to come back or be in a position to do so.

Yeah, but what a wonderful opportunity for laid-off tax CPA's (India), or Java IT types (India), or tool-and-die makers (China)!!!
They can all become Aerospace Engineers and work for NASA.
