Its called manners. Lets assume you invited your future mother-in-law to your apartment and you had a naked picture of her daughter on the wall. Its your right to hang the photo and not consider that it might be offensive to others.

That's not at all what you suggested ... unless you expect your mother-in-law to open up on you with her "nine" because of the pic. Not to mention that in order to keep the analogy working you ought to expect her to drive a rented Geo Metro through your living room for having the audacity to marry her daughter in the first place.
