Personally I have always felt that either the second or the meter needs to be redefined so that the speed of light comes out to precisely 3.0x108 m/s. I believe the current value is 2.9979x108...it annoys me that it doesn't come out even.

Not visionary enough. Gotta get rid of the 3 while we're at it. I wouldn't like 300,000 m/s either. The speed of light should be 1 million new units per second. The new unit would be very close to a foot, because the speed of light already equals 983,571,056 feet per second.
