I can't get the "airplane location" map....it's not showing anything on the site but a red x in its place.

Ah. I thought it had to be a movie somehow with the captions underneath etc.

Yes, and from the time that I looked up the site, and went to preview the picture, the flight took an eastern turn.

Of course! Thanks, I'm just getting perturbed.
And.... you're not just lurking... hey! :-0

Interesting. I suppose it could be weather, but since this is Air France 68, it does give one pause.
To: maineman
No coverage on the networks Maybe I should email this thread to the French news services. It may piss them off that we are tailing their planes ready to splash them.

"I am just posting it....been happening several times a day....the Air France flights and the flight inbound from Mexico... I'm sorry, but could you confirm what I just read? Air France flights have been intercepted and escorted "several times a day" ? and another flight in bound from Mexico as well?
How long has this been going on and is this being reported by any media anywhere? (other than FR that is?)
To: Hotdog
Thanks much. I read someone's post that the media is reporting on this....I don't have access to t.v. right now, either.

MKE is Milwaukee - that one's easy. But I love the airport name: "General Mitchell Int'l".

Eastern turn, most likly a vectoring to get the plane into the landing pattern. Usually planes land e-w at LAX and take off to the west over the ocean, due to the winds coming off the ocean. You always want to land into the wind (helps slow down) and take off into the wind (adds lift).
To: Hotdog
make that: I read the media ISN'T reporting on this (sheesh).
To: Finalapproach29er
I would probably be a little upset, also.
I had training there and got to watch a M'man launch from about amile away. Awesome. Quicker than hell. Gone almost before you heard it. I had an autowinder on my camera and got a good series of pics.
