"DON¹T SHOP DAY" IS CATCHING ON!! COMING TO TV!!
A major TV media outlet will do a story on the January 12th -- "Don¹t Shop Day." They have asked for an interview tomorrow!!! SEE http://tinyurl.com/3h5gn
WE NEED TALK RADIO TO DISCUSS THIS ACTION! We need you to call those talk shows!
Remember these talking points:
WHY?
A. Bush political advisors tell him voters have NO PLACE TO GO to protest his amnesty plans since all the Democrat candidates support amnesty. (See: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20030906-120054-6125r.htm)
HOW?
B. Since they think we have NO PLACE TO GO, we should let them know what they are up to by GOING NO PLACE on January 12, 2004, the first day of Bush¹s visit with Mexican President Fox in Mexico City. In other words, don¹t shop, don't go to movies, etc. Stay at home!
NO ONE IS HURT--
C. This is not a boycott. There will be no real economic damage to anyone, just a demonstration of our ability to protest. It's a win-win situation!
THERE IS NO SPONSOR--
D. While American Patrol is supporting this effort, there is no official sponsor. It is a true grassroots effort.
WHAT AMERICANS ARE SAYING:
Here is just some of the email feedback:
+++++++++++++++++++++ Everyone is really getting the word out. I think it's going to have a big impact. -- Along the same lines I think we should add: Make No Bank Deposits that day. Do not pay any bills (from the 9th-12th), and no online shopping either. -- Sincerely, Shanna in Arizona +++++++++++++++++++++++++ I did a search for historical events for the days between now and Jan.12th when President Bush will meet with President Fox, and the day when hundreds of thousands of Americans will not do ANY shopping. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Tuesday is the anniversary of the U.S.- Mexico border. Wednesday is the anniversary of the opening of Ellis Island. We will add another day: January 12, 2004 - the American people protested illegal immigration with their pocketbook. Barbara V. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The no shop day on 1/12/04 could stop Bush dead in his amnesty tracks if it catches on, and I very much think it will. My friends and family are spreading the word fast. The media is always writing about the great economic clout of the Latino lobby to make driver's licenses and Latino benefits happen. This could be a demonstration of REAL economic power that could upstage Bush/Fox in Monterrey Mexico on 1/12/04. This Bush-amnesty counter-measure is a brilliant idea. Suddenly we don't have to be observers watching our citizenship, sovereignty, and laws being thrown away. L.B., Riverside, CA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So again the moan and gripe isn't really misdemeanor border crossing, but grocery stores where no one speaks English, and food stamp customers, and public housing, and unwed mothers with 2 or 3 little brown-skinned babies. None of those things have anything to do with misdemeanor border crossing.

I happened to be an olive-skinned gal and you're sounding more and more like the gringo-haters of M.E.C.H.A.

Then you will like this quote . . .
"Doesn't anyone out there wish that Hitler would have been stopped before he became too powerful?" Wooldridge asks. "The overpopulation of The United States will be the Hitler of the 21st Century. We will not have enough gas by mid-century, electricity by mid-century, or food by mid-century to sustain our society. We are not in touch with the dangers posed by overpopulation. Most parents have dreams of leaving the world a better place for their children-at this rate the world will be a trauma center."
There's a significant element of this challenge that is caused by the misconduct of local authorities. Why does your county hospital provide services to trespassers (I understand if there's an auto wreck and Emergency life saving services are required) here in this country illegally? Under what authority do they take your tax money and spend it like that?
That's the thing I don't get. It's not George W. Bush providing enrollment for non-documented visitors into county welfare, entitlement and educational programs. Somebody is, under the authority (one would think) of some law or court ruling. That's the place I'd start to fight back. Throw your sheriff out of office if he's not protecting your property and personal safety. Is this really a Federal mandate that once these people scramble across some borderline they are autmoatically eligible for all the perques and ameneties of American membership?
I'll bet local pols, judges, employers and LEOs are sticking it to you worse than Bush, Ridge and the DHS officials are. If the local DHS Border Patrol and INS flunkies ain't processing these guys out of your local facilities with speed ... you need to light a fire under Flake, McCain, Kyl or whoever your political reps are. They need to starting crawling up the asses of DHS bureaucrats to get you the resources and manpower in a high traffic area like your home obviously is. That's the part I can see would really foul up the system ... even if your locals do apprehend these guys, they can't keep them forever awaiting the Feds to mosey by to take custody. Your local deputies and policemen probably don't even bother picking them up and jailing them under those circumstances. I'm sure that stuff happens. It shouldn't. These people be processed and thrown back over the border to some awaiting Mexican sanction or punishment if the system is going to work.
Finally, I wouldn't live anywhere my local officials had such disregard for my well being and security. No matter how many generations my family had lived there. Places change. The Cabrini Green neighborhood of Chicago was probably nice at one time.
BTW, I'm glad you've recovered so quickly and well from your health event. Folks here were worried!
You really should read the McCain, Colby, Flake proposed legislation, it is called a guest worker program, but the devil is in the details.
Amnesty by any other name is still Amnesty.

Anyhow I'll agree with you there. An illegal who simply crosses the border, grabs a rake and rakes someone's leaves for $20 but who never registered 8 kids into the schools or sought free health care isn't the same problem as those border crossers --- some who actually come over legally on a visitor visa but stay forever --- who cost taxpayers a lot of money. It's just that many of those border crossers start out leaving kids behind and working without using a stolen social security card --- but then decide to bring the wife and kids, retired parents, elderly and sick grandparents over for us to support --- or abandon the wife and kids back in Mexico and start up another family here in the US for us to support, start committing felony document fraud --- dealing in fraudulent and stolen identifications.
Sounds "diverse" You should celebrate!
