I think the entire article is written to support two theses, 1) that the Believers do not understand Objectivism, 2) that the big government advocates do not understand it. Mr. Emrich uses the remainder of the text as evidence to support his assertion via reference to general attitudinal trends among persons of either a Christian or a statist persuasion when approached with Objectivist ideas.

He is verifying his statements, if you examine the whole text of the work rather than just focus on the thesis snippets.

Or, to say the same thing in less pompous and stilted language, he's engaging and self-serving and abusive hand-waving without backing any of it up.

Which is what ClearCase_guy already said.
