Not exactly on topic, but, does anybody EVER actually look at your permanent record from high school...

I always heard the horror stories about your permanent record and figured it would haunt me for the rest of my life when I was in high school, I had MANY black marks for PDA's and dozens of other offenses.

Long story short, I never had a bit of trouble getting into college, all they seemed to look at were grades and SAT scores (admittedly it was not Ivy league). I now work in a job were I had to get a National Security Clearance, got it no problem...

I've come to the conclusion the threat of permanent record is akin to threat of "Santa Claus is watching you"

When you got your clearence you can bet someone looked at your record. A lot of police departments check them for hirings and certain promotions (ie detective where, in NY State, there is no civil service test). Non-government employers don't have access to those records, so I guess most people never have to worry.

Back on topic, at least the girls can't get pregnant.
