[history]
December 30, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - Saddam Hussein is starting to 'fess up about the whereabouts of up to $40 billion he stole from Iraq, and has admitted that some of it is hidden in Switzerland, Japan and Germany, a top Iraqi official says. "Saddam has confessed the names of the people he told to keep the money, and he gave names of those who have information on equipment and weapons warehouses," Iyad Allawi, a member of the Iraqi Governing Council, told the Asharq al-Awsat newspaper in London.

Iyad Allawi, a member of the Iraqi Governing CouncilWhy should I believe any of these IGC flakes?
They're in the dark and trying to play an angle.

He's giving up a lot of information. They must be torturing him with Eminem music or something.

I am curious as to Saddam singing like the canary. It is surprising to me if this is true, that he is giving up so much.

Why is it surprising?
Saddam has no reason not to sing like a canary.

40 Billion dollars is a lot of moolla. I wonder if we will be able to get it easily? I also wonder how much of the Oil for Food program is still in the UN coffers? There was like $25 Billion or more before Iraqi Operation Freedom. Kofi needs to cough it up.
To: Prodigal Son
Oh,boy! There is a good old can of beans to open. "Dear Kofi, how much money did you take and where is it you little twerp?"
He would be writhing like an egg whisk trying to answer that.

Lots of conflicting reports. I wonder if they're trying to shake some of the money loose by watching for attempts at large transfers, etc. after this sort of news dribbles out.

He knows he's not going to get access to the money to spend it. If giving up the money will stop the American interrogators from playing the "Barney" theme song 24/7, then why not?

His interrogators should have lots of elephant garlic on their breaths. Believe me, this is SHEER TORURE. I actually used this technique once in a situation where I had to get someone to agree to my demands. The guy caved in less than a minute. All he wanted was for me to be OUT of his office. Hee! Hee!

How about just chaining him to a chair and making him watch Hillary's speeches over and over again?

I think the answer was posted on another thread. Since he can't have his billions, he is determined that nobody else enjoy 'his' money.

Elephant garlic? Dude, while the largest of all garlics, it's pretty mild. I grow a lot of garlic. There are a few Korean garlics that will knock your socks off. The taste takes days to get rid of.
To: NCjim
It's all going to be found.
The people, the money, the WMD. All of it.
The onion keeps getting peeled back. Right about now, the only thing that is making the obnoxious nine feel good is Michael Jackson.

My thoughts exactly ! Patience is a virtue , and the eternally pessimistic Libs have no concept of this . With time (and a few covert ops) , everything will be revealed .

Rest assured that he is not singing of his own free will, but anyone can be broken. I hope and pray that they brought back some retired cold-war era interrogators with roots in the basements of the eastern block where time was of the essence and lifetimes were sometimes counted in minutes.

I would put a wood chipper in the cell with him and run it 24x7. This coward will spill it all in the end. Afterward they should accidently push him in.
