You want a Fisking? OK. You asked for it.:
Okay, so I thought that I could at least have civil debate with INTELLIGENT conservatives, but after posting under a different name, not only were the responses the equivellant of "UH-UH," but I was denied my rights as a citizen of this great country. It appears to me that Free Republic is not interested in FREE SPEECH!
What, simply because you got smacked down? Don't tell me - you came on board all piss and vinegar, expecting to have a knock-down drag-out with all comers. I've got news for you, bunky, you don't go into the Batcave and expect Batman to let you throw rocks at the museum pieces and equipment.
I do love the U.S., I just disagree with the jingoism that followed 9/11.
And you are entitled to disagree. It IS possible to disagree without being disagreeable.
I disagree with our leaders purposfully lying to their citizens in order to go to war.
Prove that the Adminstration lied. You CAN'T.
I disagree with going to war against the express directions of the UN which was made to council the nations on these issues.
When did we abrogate our country's sovreignty and allow it to be replaced by the UN as the supreme law of the land? I must have missed the newspaper that day.
I disagree with the nation's presidency being stolen from the rightful owner, the man who truly won the election.
No one stole anything; you obviously do not understand the form or function of the Electoral College.
I disagree with that stolen presidency being handed to a C average student who has a criminal record and went AWOL when he was supposed to be serving in the military.
And I disagree with a lying, misogynistic accused rapist being allowed to remain in the White House, using our tax dollars and his own impeachment as an excuse to lob missles at an abandoned aspirin factory. Are we even? And while I'm at it, let's TALK about that school record. When did school grades become a prerequisite for becoming President, anyhow? Of course, since you're against individuals with criminal records becoming President, I'm sure you were against Clinton's presidency - especially after he was CONVICTED by Congress.
I disagree with corporations running the government in the new era of pay to play politics. I disagree with the same corporations that run the country, run the news media.
I'm sorry, what corporations are you referring to, and in what way are they running the country and the news media? You weren't quite clear about that.
I disagree with conservatives instead of listening to what a liberal has to say, they resort to attacking them with (sometimes) drastic immaturity.
Quid pro quo. Next!
I disagree with using religion to get votes. I disagree with religion.
That's a personal problem that's best taken up with God. I don't presume to speak on His behalf, and I don't presume to impose my religious beliefs on others. On the other hand, I've got a personal relationship with Him. Do you?
I disagree with history being written by the victors.
May I presume that you disagree with the concept of history as well?
I disagree with with the USA PATRIOT Act not only because anyone can be detained for any reason for any amount of time without a trial with a jury of twelve peers. I disagree with the fact it is called the "Patriot Act" and yet there is nothing patriotic about it.
Do you disagree with terrorism? Do you disagree with the notion of Americans dying on American soil for the so-called sin of going to work? Do you disagree with so-called religious men flying airplanes into American skyscrapers to kill innocents?
I DO agree with the quote "If you are willing to sacrifice freedom for for security, you deserve neither."
That's fair. And I'm glad that we have a president who is willing to take the not-so-popular steps necessary to make sure that we have our freedom.
I disagree with the civilians in this country not standing up and calling for an impeachment for a president that has done far worse than getting a blow job in the oval office.
How about rape? Is that bad enough in your book? No? How about disregard for the laws that he had sworn to uphold? Is that bad enough?
He has LIED, CHEATED, AND MURDERED.
Once again, where is your proof? The allegation sounds good, but there is NO PROOF of those allegations.
I disagree with everyone being angry at Bill Clinton for smoking marijuana but no one criticizes George W. Bush for DRUNK DRIVING and COCAINE use.
On the contrary. He has been commensurrately chastised and punished. He has shown contrition for his wrongs and corrected them. Has Mr. Clinton?
I disagree with George W. Bush saying in a nationally televised broadcast, "If you aren't with us, you're with the terrorists."
What would you have him say? Turn the other cheek? The bottom line is that this war is not pretty. It's not meant to be pretty. The US will step on toes to keep her citizens safe. Sorry.
This hurt the feelings of about 60% of New York citizens because they not only lost friends and family in the World Trade Center on 9/11, but they also opposed going to war with Iraq.
I'm sorry, where is the proof of your statistics? I have seen no such indication of the numbers you cite here - I would wager the feeling of many in New York City falls to the other side of the spectrum.
You can imagine the deranged ultimatum this put on those poor Ameericans who had to choose between those who killed their friends and family and the their better judgment to wait for a UN resolution. I disagree with a $350 billion tax that goes directly to the 1% minority of the wealthy.
I have three children, and I am happy with my tax cut. I am not, nor have I ever been within the top 1% of money makers in this nation. The numbers sound good on television, but the reality is quite different.
I disagree with the "No Child Left Behind" policy.
You do? You want marginal children to be passed on for the hell of it? Remind me not to have you teach my children.
Standardized tests don't teach children anything but how to memorize test questions. As a teacher, I can only describe it as leaving every child behind.
As the child of teachers, I can safely say that standardized tests provide a reasonable measure of performance in today's society, provided they mirror present conditions. If you're a teacher, I'm truly embarrassed for your school.
I disagree with arch conservatives on this website saying that I have AIDS because I am liberal and am into homosexual activites. To clear up your mislead statements of slander. I am heterosexual, I do not have AIDS. I have two healthy children that are beautiful and will be entering school in a year. I love my wife and my country.
Who on this site said that, and what was their exact quote? I dare say that you are the one guilty of slander here.
I don't agree with you...but that doesn't mean I hate you or your thoughts. I encourage them. But please stop reacting to someone that you disagree with in an angry passion of blind ignorance. It doesn't solve anything.
And you don't come into someone's home and begin trashing it because you don't agree with the furniture.
Just damn.

If you want on the new list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

Dang. You cooked the turkey to its' delicious best, carved it up in style and served it in gourmet fashion. Can you tell I'm hungry for turkey? My mom served ham for Christmas. Let's split the wishbone. My wish is for four more years of President George W. Bush! And no, I don't believe in jinxes if I reveal my wish. They're cooking their own goose....or some such nonsense. Love your rebuttal.

Um, you forgot to mention the cocaine allegation was a libelous allegation that existed only in the mind of a convicted felon.

Why do you think the said felon's publishing company ceased publication of the book and did a recall of all books that were on the shelves?

Funny how those on the left refused to accept all of the statements made about Bill Clinton's own cocaine use (and possible heart attack). Even his own half brother said that he had a nose like a vaccuum cleaner.

The allegation against George Bush came from an anonymous source in a book authored by a guy who wrote unauthorized biographies of Star Trek actors. That author has since committed suicide.

Regardless of the truth or fiction of George W. Bush's cocaine use/abuse, I am certain that he is clean and sober today. There are still suspicions that Bill Clinton continues to use cocaine.

As to the drunk driving, it is known that Ted Kennedy killed more people driving drunk than George W. Bush (1 to 0). Ted Kennedy gets a pass on this; he even waited before getting "aid" for his campaign aide lady friend. George W. Bush paid his fine (the penalty for the crime at the time). How much jail time did Ted Kennedy get?
