"WHERE WERE THE PARENTS?????"

Maybe they were home worrying and making phone calls trying to find her. What's this go to do with a stupid, needless high speed car chase that would have at best apprehended a teenager who stole a car, and at worst caused the deaths of seven youngsters? The benefits of such a chase just do not balance out the risks. Returning the car and making an arrest for theft of a material piece of tin is more important than the lives of seven kids? I swear that people's brains and priorities in this country are up their #$@+*& these days.

Okay, maybe the 13-y/o's weren't where they told their parents they were going to be... or maybe the parents are the permissive type who let their barely teenage children run the streets with older, driving-age kids at all hours of the night. I'd love to know.

"What's this go to do with a stupid, needless high speed car chase ...."

New Jersey, several years ago, said no high speed chases. --- The gangs then started taunting the police and speeding away, knowing they could not be chased --- shown on tv by news program.

Darwinism was right.
Those most able to adapt will continue to survive.

These "children" did not adapt to the laws of:
1) God (thou shalt not steal),
2) The laws of man...which protect us all from reckless behavior.

I have relatives in that part of the state, and I am glad that the police chose to enforce the law, and attempt to stop obviously dangerous driving.

It is sad that seven "children" wreckless thieves met their untimely end, but THEY are the ones who chose to break God's Law, and Man's Law.

I think we should pray for the police, the dead, their grieving parent(s), and be sure to kiss your teenage children tonight and show them this article on what NOT to do.

If a parent/teacher/loved one told them
1) DO NOT STEAL, and
2) DO NOT RUN FROM COPS

and the teenagers actually listened, they would be alive today. Unfortunately, I would bet that a majority in the car are totally innocent of both breeches of public trust mentioned above, and thus will receive my prayers.

I swear that people's brains and priorities in this country are up their #$@+*& these days.

If you think this car chase was worth it, then you go take a flying #$%&^% for yourself.

They used to hang horse thieves, not because someone was deprived of some hamburger, but because peoples livelihood depended upon their transportation and the horses was someone's property. Like wise a car is more than some tin.

I think it is a priority and one of the few useful things that government is supposed to do, that is catch thieves who do not respect the rights of others.

Every passenger in the car had to of known it was stolen and made a decision to get in the car. They knew they were playing a game of Russian Roulette and they lost. Sorry to sound cold but I laugh when someone decides to play Russian Roulette and looses.

They did not die because they were chased, they died because they were thieves.

I feel bad for the cops, it was a sight no one should see, and they must of had a tough time telling the relatives of the theives. Is it worth it to defend peoples right to be secure in their property? Yep.

Yeah, your brains aren't "up your #$%^&" - because you have none.
They stole a car and were driving errativcally at a high speed. That is dangerous for everyone. Ever lose a loved one to a young, drunk driver "driving erratically at high speed" - probably not.

I'm not a "big" fan of many police actions. however, this situation is EXACTLY what we have police for.

These kids broke the law, stole a car, did not wear seat belts, were stupid, ran from the cops, killed themselves. Noone else killed them. Although it sad for the familes, this is Darwin in action.

According to the original post, the car was moving in an erratic way. That might have implied to the officer in question that the individual driving the vehicle might be impaired. Are you saying that impaired drivers should not be stopped? The officer can only go by what he observes.
