One more fact to add to all this--according to an article that started another thread on this, the stolen Intrepid was running with a small temporary spare tire on one wheel...and was doing an estimated 80-100 mph *before* the officer lit it up.
So you've got an overloaded car (7 people in a space built for 5), probably almost at its max weight, with one wheel smaller than the other three and a spare tire not built for much over 60 mph, being driven at 80+ mph in the middle of the night on a rural highway by a 15-year-old with no license who's just committed a home invasion robbery (allegedly).
Oh, but it's the cop's fault, according to Crusader.
Sounds to me like this kid stood a pretty damn good chance of putting that car into the creek whether or not there was a police officer chasing him.
