I remember a FreeRepublic where people didn't pass blame for themselves onto their government but instead simply complained about legitimate government problems.

I'd say that a "legitimate government problem" was one where the gov't concerned itself more with shutting down strip clubs than stopping moslems from flying jets into buildings.
