Why in the name of Sam Hill should the transplantaion of a few donor cells cost $256,000?
To: SoCal Pubbie
They require guaranteed outcomes, the money-grubbing doctors and HospAdmins are probably making her pay for the harvestation of the donor cells as well.
To: ken5050
So, if we can't cure them, we should just kill them?

???????..too much bad eggnog on your part?..perhaps...insurance is all about assesing, and sharing risks, at affordable costs to ALL...that's why states have assigned risk pools for auto insurance..to keep bad drivers from pushing up everyone's premiums....practically all medical policies have million $$ caps on total expenditures..with some annual restoration....

Chuck Heston starred as Capt. Haynes in a movie about this flight, IIRC it was called "Falling From The Sky" and was quite good.

Plus Ken-- the plane that landed in Badhdad after the missile shot with same type problem---The pilot attended a briefing given by this pilot on how to control the Aircraft with power setting on engines

I've had a sticker on the back of my license for years. It's a bit faded, time for a new one. Thanks.

I do remember seeing the movie. Parts of it anyway. Somehow movies don't quite capture true events such as this, unlike reading the actual CVR transcript or hearing the actual ATC\Crew communications.
To try to put oneself in that position of having to make quick decisions under those type of circumstances(in real life, not hollywood)speaks volumes for the intellect and the courage of all those involved.
Something even the great Charleton Heston would probably agree can't be duplicated in a hollywood script.
