The story is not fishy. It is a true event that happened. We are still looking for him.

"Has the family gone back to location to search just in case he was hit by a passing motorists and is laying in wait of med. help."
The daughter, after she got home, gone back to seach for him without success.

Good thought but Steve is not a drinker. A Teetotaler. So much for that theory. Thanks.

Hey if he has an acct. with the wifey she can call the 24hr bank line and check on all trasactions/activity.
Same on most Credit cards.
It works that way in my little part of the world surely it must in bigger areas.
Unless he used a card on an account not shared.

so this is your son
Yes- this is my son. Three of the kids and families had been here this weekend, one from SD one from CO and this family recently moved to AR. As I said in an earlier post, Steve and his wife had argued what is now Saturday. They were returning home. All but their oldest son who is married and their daughter in school in NE was with them. That includes three of their own children and four adopted. Which is why they were in two vehicles. They did contact the state patrol and the police, who would not do anything until the 24 hours had gone by. Which will be in about 2 1/2 hours. I really do not know why Steve was out of the vehicle. I do know the daughter did not know, therefore missed him. It is a bit hard to see the wife driving off deliberately, but obviously something took place, and here we are. I did not pay any attention to what they were driving respectively, but I do know when the daughter realized what had happened she returned to the area, not locating her father.
I also know she had no sleep and dozed off at the wheel, and damaged her car when she bactracked. Whatever else did or did not happen, the wife is very upset, the family is very upset. The rest of us are upset. As I posted earlier, Steve is average wt- 6'1", red hair, short trimmed beard, casual clothing. Nothing to particularly make him stand out in a crowd--no scars, no tatoos. No phyical disablilty.
The last time I tried to call they were gone. What I do know is I will be called when this is resolved.
And I appreciate the concern and prayers.

See post 66 for the detail I have. We had some sixteen other people bsides me running in and out and around Saturday. Besides Steve's not small family. I was not paying a whole lot of attention to who was driving what etc. I recognize moms do not always know their kids as well as they think they do, but this just is way out of character. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts and concern. It is appreciated.

What kind of area is Hwy 71 near Joplin Mo? High crime, vagrants/transeints ect?Since I live in TN, I haven't a clue. I'm still hoping that he thumbed a ride with a trucker, and is spending a night or two at some truckstop in an effort to make whatever argument he had with his wife seem trivial.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was more to the "argument" part of this than they may want to disclose to his mother too.
Was he "thrown out" of the car? (figuratively, not literally?) If it was done on the open highway and not at some stopping area, my guess is that somebody slammed on the breaks and ordered him out of the car.
Were all of his bags driven on home or were any missing when they arrived?
Sorry if these sound too intrusive. I'm just trying to piece together what happened.

Amen to that I don't have much exp. in the marraige and happenings dept. but a good nights sleep seems to help in any situation.
Some of the worst misunderstandings my friends get is when I am grumpy due to post surg. even if I fore warn they still don't appreaciate my bitchy mood.
Prayer bump for Steve's safety and families clear headedness in a uncertain time. Scary that his daughter was out looking with highway hipnosis knocking at her door.
Let us pray we don't have a mishap due to those frantically searching for him.
Also pray that this brings more solidarty and understanding between wife and husband.
Prayers for Mrs. Steve Davis.
