Steve Davis was let out of his car, which his wife was driving, on the Hwy 71 near Joplin, NO. His daughter was driving her car behind them, and was supposed to pick him up. Instead of doing so, she whizzed right on by him. The wife got home and realized that Steve was not with them. Steve has not been heard from since being dropped off the Hwy 71 early this morning in the Joplin, Missouri area.
Can any you Joplin, MO freepers help to find him? The Mother is wanting to hear from him!

They can now officially file a report with the Sherrifff Dept in thier home/destination.
This according to the Hwy. Patrol for that area of Hwy. 71 near Joplin.
I have to sign off so I can get some rest before my next shift.
Will bump before I sign off.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks for the diligence You have given to oceanperch in the care of her beloved King Vanity. Guide her in any course of treatment that is necessary ... touch him with Your healing hand and take away the distress from the assault on his body. Strengthen him through this ordeal, and provide all the energy oceanperch needs to see him through. Bring them through this crisis quickly, I pray, that both may rest with grateful hearts for Your loving kindness. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

Sounds like a good idea. I do not know how to post on other state pages.
Tried way back for something and did not have any luck accessing.
Usaully when I am signing off this early in the morning the AM East coasties are just coming on and do a nice job of keeping a thread going.
They are nice and fresh with Java and I am weaning off the Coca Cola to water. : )

So, we have a grown man who had in argument with his wife and got out of the car and hasn't been seen....right? Maybe he's cooling off somewhere and will return home when he's ready? Maybe the panic button was pushed too soon?
Just some thoughts.....certainly wouldn't be the first time a spouse took off for a day or 2.
To: Sen Jack S. Fogbound
I join in praying for his safe recovery and for blessing and peace for his loved ones!
To: Yeti
Thanks for the ping! Hope they find him.
So I wonder if his wife and daughter had cell phones, and I wonder if those phones were charged up and turned on a couple hours after he got dropped off? He could have gone into Joplin, found a phone, and called one of them. Maybe he did, but maybe the phone wasn't on or whatever.
I would assume he went to the nearest town, Joplin, and if he wasn't ready to come home, he would have booked a hotel room? And maybe he just decided to sleep off whatever differences he'd had with the wife?
To: Sen Jack S. Fogbound
If I were running the search, these are some of the questions I would ask:
1. Did he and his wife argue often?
2. Has something like this even happened before?
3. Does he have any camping/wilderness skills?
4. Was he dressed appropriately for the weather?
5. Did he have any money, food, cigarettes, with him?
6. Did any of the three people involved have cell phones?

How awful -- you must be so worried. Please know that Steve and your family are in my prayers.
To: trussell
Thanks, trussell!
Wonder what were the circumstances of the wife letting him out of the car. Seems like the children in the car, as well as the wife, could tell searchers/police what was happening right b/f he was let out.

I haven't heard any words yet on Steve's return. Footstomper had to get some rest during the night as do I.
Thanks to all the Freepers for the prayers and the suggestions!
We continue to wait.

Prayers for the family and the stranded son.
From my quick reading, they were traveling northbound, approaching Joplin in their journey. What town was immediately behind them at the point that this occured? Anderson or the exit for Noel?
