This is KNBCs
seismograph cam on their web site:
Sure looks like a short, sharp one to me.
For some reason my link isn't copying in as I built it. Here's the URL to launch the image as a pop up:
javascript:popUp('http://wx.nbc4.tv/la/sh/wx/popup_frame.cfm?ImageID=8134','width=640,height=480');
and the page the link came from:

Darn, now it's rolled off the image - well, it looked like a very brief sharp shock.

I lived in Glendale California when we had an 4.0 earthquake with an epicenter about 5 miles away. It felt like a truck had run into the building, a sharp and loud jolt.
To: hasegawasama
South of you about 30 or so miles. Everyone here agreed it was explosive/impact like, with a concussion.
Our thoughts all turned to Long Beach. Glad it was only a quake.....But I was surprised.

You people in CA are getting plenty of warnings, leave town NOW." LOL! No offense, but I'd rather live in a perpetual 3.5 that have to move the rainy, wet, cold, north.....

I felt a sharp, jarring earthquake in western washington a few years ago that was accompanied with a huge BOOM. I was in the grocery store and the cheese jumped at me, and the lights flickered. I thought a big truck had rammed the store, but it was an earthquake. I called my sisters and mom - and we all had been in different grocery stores from 40 miles north of Seattle to 90 miles south of Seattle when it hit and we all felt it.

You all must be overdue by now in Fresno. Any major faults your way? (other than the city government and Gary Condit?)
