I'm confident the American people understand that when it comes to our security, if we need to act, we will act, and we really don't need United Nations approval to do so. I want to work -- I want the United Nations to be effective. It's important for it to be a robust, capable body. It's important for it's words to mean what they say, and as we head into the 21st century, Mark,

when it comes to our security, we really don't need anybody's permission.

- George W Bush, March 6, 2003

Wow... Your post is a grammatical and rhetorical masterpiece to behold. Where to begin? I'll just keep it short and simple enough for you to understand. I will even put them in boldface so I can be assured that you will see them.

I'm am not sorry about taking on ALL of You BUSH BASHERS.

Two things:

Calling names and spouting nonsense is not "taking on"

and

Citing the Bush record is not "Bush-bashing".

A more accurate way to have phrased your comment would be "I am not sorry about spouting mindless pap to all of you who dare question Bush and cite his record".

I shall be voting for the President's re election without hesitation. Has the President done 100% of of what I'd like to bee? No.Has he come fairly close, yep. The problem for many to understand is that American politics is the art of the possible. It must be realized that Reagan understood this viscerally and it would appear so does Dubya.

The suicidal mindset of just sitting it out or voting for the alleged "conservative" ala Perot should be well acknowledged as just that, nothing more,. It is nt principle, it is a self destructive tantrum. This President is dismantling, at great odds, the framework FDR built. It woun't happen in a trice.

My vote, once again, is for President George W.Bush, the Avenger of the Bones.

with Bush it looks like America will become either another European country (socialist), or another Mexico.

Bush&co. do seem to be taking us in that direction....bigger and bigger government.

We are really in a bad place as I see no way to change the course.

See my #108.

I saw it, silly person. (j/k )

However, I disagree with you. If the conservative vote is divided and the liberal vote is united, we will probably loose to the "metrosexual."

If that happens, may God have mercy on the United States of America.

This will certainly bring hostilities, like I care. Vote your beliefs. Rebuplican, Democrat, Libertarian or otherwise. You may catch hell from the wackos on sites like this but so what? You will sleep better at night.

Now, wait till all the so called 'conservatives' here tell me that using your conscience as a guide is a bad thing. Morality is only good when it suits them, you see.

Speaking of which, DL, how has UMC's no illegals policy been going? Are they able to hold the line, or has Grijalva staged a demonstration out front?

That said, The realist in me just doesn't want to waste my vote in 2004 on any other candidate besides Bush. It's a dangerous world we now live in, and I just don't trust anyone else to lead us thru it. Now, more than at any other time since WWII, we need peace thru strength, and a leader unafraid of international perceptions to secure freedom for the generations to come. America must endure.

You said it beautifully. I agree, the domestic stuff is bothersome, but I also believe it just may turn out right in the longer term.

Agree! I wrote this, earlier:

am supporting W. in all possible ways in the coming election, and here's why: Though he has disappointed me with some stances, and though I know there are yet more disappointments in his pipeline, I believe there is really only ONE issue of our time: Domestic security--aka WOT.

He has the spine, the will, and the religious faith to take on what is our current Holy War. I cannot imagine anyone else at this particular helm.

All the arguments about too much spending, how harshly we should treat illegals, etc.--all of it!--pale to me when I realize that our country could become Israel writ large, if the Islamofascists have their way. I don't want that for my children. Do I want them to grow into adulthood just to bitch about the cost of social security and medical care? If the alternative is them lying in graves, murdered at the hands of extremists on a suicide mission--convert us or kill us--then I say: Bring it.

I pay OVER $100,000 a year in taxes. I am not bashing Mr. Bush on taxes. I was bashing the Republicans on taxes. I live in a Republican controlled country, in what was a Republican controlled state (thank you George Ryan), and a Republican controlled county, and a NEWLY formed Republican controlled village. I DO NOT blame the democrats for all of my taxation. Actually, I am pretty sick of my taxation. And at this point, if you are an officeholder you are part to blame. My main reason is my desire to keep what I EARN.

Qwinn, the reason that you thought you were going to get is still the MOST valid one, but I would never argue it with you. For, you have shown it not to be an issue of yours'

You mentioned that one of the contentious issues is a "broad amnesty in immigration".

Immigrants need no amnesty. Illegal aliens who broke into the country are not "immigrants", they are lawless foreign nationals illegally occupying our territory. They are the only ones in need of an "amnesty".

Do everyone a favor and don't adopt the linguistics of the Left to hide the truth.

I think Bush is doing certain things that many conservatives don't agree with as an attempt to mollify the swing voter. By doing so, he helps lock in a second term, with an eye toward a gradual rightward shift in governing for the following four years. The gradual (and relatively pain-free) weaning of certain groups off of the government teat will help to further solidify the rightward swing that the general public has been displaying as of late, thus making the '08 GOP candidate appear much more mainstream than and Al Gore or Hillary Clinton.

At least I hope so. :-)

W for me, too. I think it is selfish, petulant, and self serving to NOT vote for W, because of some of the stances Bush has taken. Do I like blanket amnesty? AWB extension? Kennedy's Education bill? Of course not! But to those of you blustering about staying at home or voting third party, I have two words for you: Howard Dean.

Well said.

I don't know what the future will be with Dean, but with Bush it looks like America will become either another European country (socialist), or another Mexico.

It seems to me that's exactly what Dean would do, and as quick as he could, unless I'm way wrong.

I'll waste my time on you once.
Try this notion;to gain ground, on occasion, you have to retreat. I know, a concept tough to imagine, but it works.
Other than that,I think Harry/Pat/Ross or whomever is waiting for you to wander by.

It's neither my intention to adopt leftist lingo or hide the truth, and I regret if I have appeared to do either.

You're right, they are illegal aliens and I disagree with anything short of swift deportation.
