Fitzgerald is a prize if only the Republicans would appreciate what they have. He and our junior senator from Pennsylvania not only repesent an important demographic (conservative Catholics), but stand their ground and earn admirers and votes from old-style Democrats.
Any inside word on who is going to replace Fitz in the Senate?

On the Republican side, investment banker Jack Ryan is the party's front-runner and has great potential in the general election. On the 'Rat side, there seem to be four top-tier candidates: state Controller Dan Hynes, invesment banker Blair Hull, ex-Chicago Superintendent of Schools Gerry Chico, and state Senator Barak Obama.
