These arguments are self-serving in that they admit no evidence to the contrary.
This isn't a good point for a creationist to raise, for the non-admission of contrary evidence is a hallmark of every faith, and the only thing that keeps "creation science" in business.
I'm serious - I've heard some Christians claim that dinosaur bones were put on earth by "the devil" to trick us!
No matter what the religion - point out something that seems to contradict the holy writ, and the reply is "You don't have enough faith" or "You're reading that wrong". And a small cadre of "creation scientists" are right, while the whole rest of the scientific establishment are either mistaken, lying, or tools of the devil!

That's exactly what a friend of mine says when I show her evidence of dinosaur finds or early humanoid footprints in Africa. First she laughs heartily at my stupidity, then hints of the devil's hand in all this. You can't reason with people like that let alone have a sensible discussion.
