OK, first I'll admit I only read the first paragraph.
I stopped when I got to the part about conservative Catholics being a threat to women's political and reproductive rights.
I will assume the Catholic comment is referring to Mexicans.
The problem is though, that this assessment is incorrect. It is not the Mexican's Catholicism that affects the treatment of women, but their culture of a macho male.
All of the problems I've seen around the world in the news etc regarding the treatment of women in society, have in my view been cultural, not religious.

You're right -- and if it's just abortion the writer is worried about --- abortion is plentiful in Mexico and all along the border --- and they vote for pro-abortion democrats.
