Thanks Dog. I've been looking for somebody who was a bit more accepting. It's been a very long time but I've been threatened or assaulted more than once for "talking while white" or other similar offenses. Now a more advanced age I still get careless. Several months ago I walked into our crowded cleaners and held out my ticket for a pickup, not realizing (though I should) that several others were in line for service. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention" didn't take the hateful look off of a woman who was dissed by my behavior. I guess I'm fortunate I wasn't in Forest Park but rather in my Maryland suburb of DC.
