Yes of course it is venus... there is only one other 'evening star' and that would be mercury. These two planets are inside of the Earth orbit and so they appear to follow the Sun down in the evening and Sun rise in the morning, depending on their current orbital positions. Mercury never appears high on the horizon because of its proximity to the sun, but venus rises very high in its orbit.

A London-based Arab magazine said on Friday that al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has vowed to launch a "back-breaking attack" on the United States by February, confirming an earlier message by the militant network.

...but they did see us go wobbly when people stopped flying. They're again attempting to create another economic downturn with bluster about hijacked airplanes. Scaring us is easier than blowing up Las Vegas.

We won't be frightened off again, however. We'll demand they be thrown out of the country, or shot and killed. If there's trouble I forsee a big hole in the ground stretching from Pakistan's nucleur sites to the mountainous Afghan/Paki border where OBL's grave is, and his minions are still hiding.

While driving yesterday evening, I noticed this crescent moon - star combination.

It looks like the Air France strikes were their latest attempt to worship Satan. It would have happened on Christmas day and would have happened during this celestial event.

But it looks like we screwed their pooch on that one.

What's the consensus? Do you guys think we're just hearing chest thumping, or is something "big" really in the works? I fear it is the latter.

I think it is the former.

Arabs are always full of bluster at precisely those moments when they are least potent.

Feeling all powerful after "they" chased the Russians from Afghanistan, they actually believed they would take down the Great Satan on 9-11, through their attack on our economy. Our economy, of course, took it like water off a duck's back.

Their ACTIONS indicate they have moved to secondary goals while blustering about strikes on our soil to APPEAR to retain power, something they MUST do for their recruiting effort.

I believe they see that another strike on our soil would bring even more dire consequences to their region, at least the foot soldiers realize this, if not what's left of their leadership. One thing for sure, 9-11 wouldn't have happened without a profound lack of respect, respect which has been restored by our ACTIONS in its aftermath. IMHO.
