"I have a friend who is really into Polka's from the Deep South, for instance!"

Are ye possibly talking about Cajun music?? It employs some of the same musical instruments as Polka (e.g. accordians) and has the same roots.

HA!!
I never even once considered the Lass might be talking abour zydeco, Sultan; but, you might just be right.

Still, I'd have to believe HG would know the difference between music inspired by the inhabitants of a mostly Frencn New Orleans area of the USA & that of Poland.
Wouldn't you?? :o)

She's awfully cute, Sultan.
If anyone could get away with such a gaff without some mighty monumental teasing for such a faux pas??

...it'd have to be our very own HappyGal, eh? ;^)

Could be, sultan.
He made us go see a touring band here once called 'Two Time Polka'...and this girl with them, made us all get up and learn a dance called the 'Cajun Slap'.

Energetic (if a bit nerdy!) *LOL*
