"...he can still save this election by reinvogorating a base who would love to sweep him into a second term in landslide fashion. But Dubyuh's gotta redirect his campaign in a starboard direction..."

Oh, I agree 100%. This should be the FOCUS of the discussion at our next RedTableMeeting, I think.

"Forget Republicans and Democratic Party affiliations."

One of the most damaging fallouts of Dubyuh's outta-control spending has been a blurring of the differences between Republicrats and Demoblicans.

"It's the CFR that is doing it to the American people and is manipulating BOTH parties like puppets on a string. They are the ones advising Bush on policy making issues; especially concerning amnesty of illegals. We need to investigate them for creating this war and invasion on Americans for it is they who are communizing America with the flooding of illegals."

The bipartisan Council on Foreign Relations has led policy towards a discreditation of sovereignty, and a weakening of our resolve to protect our borders. Still, Dubyuh's rejection of a UN veto over the Liberation of Iraq remains one of his most impressive--and bold--moves to date. When you see the DemonRATS running on a platform of giving overriding power back to the feckless morons in the United Nations, you can see the clear distinction between the parties, imho.

re #370; of course I agree with you.

But as for my arguing anymore, with anyone, on the subject?
Nope, no more.
I'm done with that. Finished. Fini.

If people cannot -- easy -- *understand* what I, you & many other self described "conservatives" are saying?
-AND/OR-
If I, you, & many other self described "conservatives" aren't quite conservative enough for said people?
-AND/OR-
Said people continue to *invite* those of us -- who've legit, valid concerns over this administration's direction -- to leave the party?

So be it.
Let the chips fall where they may.
Because I'll know who to look to for the blame should this POTUS fail to get himself re-elected, too.

...but *argue* & *fight* with the "people," I won't.

That's yer perogative and don't think I don't understand the sentiment (what's the figgin' use?)...however, being the squeaky wheel can prove beneficial to our cause. Notice how Dubyuh's SOTU called fer a 4% increase in domestic discretionary spending fer the upcoming year, but after much consternation on the right, his budget coming out in a week or two will propose a 1% increase!!

We've still gotta long way to go, but it's a start...MUD

"Are ye possibly talking about Cajun music?? It employs some of the same musical instruments as Polka (e.g. accordians) and has the same roots."

HA!!
I never even once considered the Lass might be talking abour zydeco, Sultan; but, you might just be right.

Still, I'd have to believe HG would know the difference between music inspired by the inhabitants of a mostly Frencn New Orleans area of the USA & that of Poland.
Wouldn't you?? :o)

She's awfully cute, Sultan.
If anyone could get away with such a gaff without some mighty monumental teasing for such a faux pas??

Could be, sultan.
He made us go see a touring band here once called 'Two Time Polka'...and this girl with them, made us all get up and learn a dance called the 'Cajun Slap'.

Energetic (if a bit nerdy!) *LOL*

"That's yer perogative and don't think I don't understand the sentiment (what's the figgin' use?)...however, being the squeaky wheel can prove beneficial to our cause."

*Squeak* away, my friend.

But lemme tell you, had a *couple* of individuals talked to me (the other night) the way they did to several other people?
Well, I'm afraid I'd have gone nuts, went on a "Holy Jihad" to find out who they were & where they lived.
Then proceeded to break their necks like a dry twig with my *bare* hands.

Sorry pal, that's wayyyyy too personal for me; so, what I've decided is to cast *my* vote the way I see fit, based on the facts *&* my conscious.
Which is -- in the final anlysis -- no ones business but my own & what another does is *their* business of which I couldn't care less.

"Notice how Dubyuh's SOTU called fer a 4% increase in domestic discretionary spending fer the upcoming year, but after much consternation on the right, his budget coming out in a week or two will propose a 1% increase!!"

Read very slowly what you wrote there, son.
Will you do that?

Explain for me the kind of person who says one thing and then, a mere 2-3 weeks later, does something quite different.
OK?
Please think before you respond because it's not Clinoccio we're speaking about, here.
We became all-too-accustomed -- if not altogether conditioned -- to listening to a LIAR & then playing a sort of -- albeit warped -- game.
A *game* whereby we tried to *guess* not what he meant when he said what he did but rather, what was he going to actually do.
Remember?

So have at it, knock yourself out.
Explain (for me) why this POTUS didn't tell "me" & "us" what he was, ultimately going to do, will you?
~& don't you DARE tell me he hadn't reviewed his latest "Focuse group" feedback, either. {g}

I won't quibble about things said about a "budgets" et al, either; however; the SOTU is when a POTUS -- any POTUS -- has an opportunity to speak directly *to* the the general public [read: you & I: the *taxpayer* citizen)] -- both opponents & proponents -- in a face-to-face way whereby he can -- in terms we'll understand & without political gobbledegook -- explain what in the hell's going on with regard to all matters, American.
Follow?

"We've still gotta long way to go, but it's a start...MUD"

OK fine, & now I know where you stand.

Can't & won't argue with sincerity *or* honesty.

...& you've always been good for both with me, Mud.

"Explain for me the kind of person who says one thing and then, a mere 2-3 weeks later, does something quite different. OK? Please think before you respond because it's not Clinoccio we're speaking about, here."

We'd be mighty naive if we believed our leaders were not cognizant of the political winds of change. In fact, one of my biggest gripes with the BushBackers/BushBots is that their unconditional support of Dubyuh has led him and his advisors to believe we on the Right can be taken fer granted while they solicit support from Lefties who love BigGuv'ment!! It's about time he hears from those of us who put him into power in the first place.

"Explain (for me) why this POTUS didn't tell "me" & "us" what he was, ultimately going to do, will you? ~& don't you DARE tell me he hadn't reviewed his latest "Focuse group" feedback, either. {g}"

While I liked Dubyuh's SOTU fer the most part, I feel he missed an opportunity to set the tone fer the campaign. Fact is, I'm with Dubyuh 100% on his War on Terror and admire his willingness to fight fer tax cuts...still, he needs to realize that a $2.3 Trillion budget is waaaay too big and full of unnecessary fat, and it's up to him to lead the way in begining the process of trimming it back to size!!

"OK fine, & now I know where you stand. Can't & won't argue with sincerity *or* honesty. ...& you've always been good for both with me, Mud."

Gracias, dude, and I've never questioned yer commitment to fightin' the good fight...MUD

What's that they say? You can hor-ti-culture, but you can't make her think! *LOL* (Of course, I'm kidding *L*)

And before you "sasse out" on us, please do indulge me & explain something.

For you? Certainly! :-)

It's Saturday night in Ireland same as it is *here*. Indeed, and it is!

So what, pray-tell, are you doing *home* on a *computer*?!

Well, I'm all purtied up, and ready to go. It's not 10 p.m. yet! Nothing starts here until after 10 p.m.! :-)

I'm tellin' ya, the "men" of Ireland? Must have rocks in their noggins if they're willing to let a Lass like you sit at home, and I don't care if you are a journalist, either. :o)

Well, the journalist thing can be a drawback! *LOL*

Surely there's *one* Irish fella who can out talk you, A-M.

Well there are a few - although not TOO many! *LOL* - and one is picking me up in 10 minutes to go out on the town. Not a romantic interest though, just a good mate!

Ye know what, Landru? I think I'm going to have to emigrate! ;-)

"Excellent Link to Dubyuh's Weekly Radio Address!!"

""To assure that Congress observes spending discipline, now and in the future, I propose making spending limits the law. This simple step would mean that every additional dollar the Congress wants to spend in excess of spending limits must be matched by a dollar in spending cuts elsewhere. Budget limits must mean something, and not just serve as vague guidelines to be routinely violated. This single change in the procedures of the Congress would bring further spending restraint to Washington." -President Bush, 1/30/04

Let's hope Dubyuh makes this a major priority in the upcoming campaign!!

JimRob: "My whole purpose for starting Free Republic in the first place was because I was fed up with the left. I was and am totally disgusted and outraged at the communist/marxist/socialist/liberal takeover of America. I was fed up with their tyranny and corruption and their relentless march on destroying our society and our freedoms. Their continued and wanton destruction of morality and our religious freedom. Their misuse of the military. Their abandonment of our national sovereignty to world bodies. Their constant erosion of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Their liberal activists judges legislating their evil will from the bench. Their brainwashing of our children. Their shoving homosexualism into our faces and down our children's throats in government schools. Their government sanctioned wholesale slaughter of innocent unborn children. How much evil and tyranny should a free man be expected to stomach before he becomes enraged and decides to rebel against it? Hey I was fed up and outraged at the Party of Darkness, Corruption and Evil (ie, the Democrat Party) with Clinton at the helm, and I'm still just as fed up and outraged today. I want not only to destroy their evil party, I want to drive a stake through its Marxist heart so it can never rise again! This is my whole purpose for FR in a nutshell. As far as I'm concerned. those who cannot live with this, or who do not believe that the elimination of marxism as a major political force from America is a good idea or who have some other agenda in mind might as well take it elsewhere. You are on the wrong forum."
