This is the third year in a row with below average large (magnitude 7+) earthquake activity.
This year it was REALLY low.

It has been 11 years since since Humboldt County has had a 6 or better quake. In 1992 we had a 6.5 6.8 and a 7.1 in less than 24 hours. Now that will "shake" your confidence.
As a side note we have only had 2 minor quakes in over 3 weeks and that really has me shaking as we need those small ones to relieve the stress. I called Prof Lori Dengler at HSU just before the SLO quake about it but she is more concerned about the lack of big ones.
