Those SAM's won't do jack against a large commercial airliner on a suicide dive.
While totally a guess, I would be watching any airline that comes from a country that either has a high (radical) Muslim population and/or has supported the U.S. in Iraq and in the War on Terror.

DAMN THE JOHN F***ING KERRY MEDIA!!!!
Can't we keep this stuff secret so we can actually catch the terrorists?????????
I know this is rhetorical with the media, but this makes me mad to no end. I can see Rita Cosby running breathlessly to the nearest mike to tell us the exact flight numbers and who is on each plane.

But wait a minute, Howard Dean and the 8 ducklings glued to his tail have been quacking to all of us that we are no better equipped to fight terrorism than we were on sept. 10th, 2001, and that America is no safer after:
1) Smashing the Taliban and destroying all the terror training camps in Afghanistan
2) Capturing over 2 thirds of the top Al-Qaeda Operatives
3) Jailing over 600 suspected terrorist here in the United States
4) Turning GITMO into Jihad Jailhouse
5) Removing Saddam from power, killing his evil Sons and exposing Saddam to the entire world for the coward he is
6) And convincing Libya's Ghadafi that dismantling his arsenal of Chemical, Bilogical and Nuclear programs is good for his heatlth.

There will never be a successful hijack of a US airliner ever again. The passengers will not permit it.

Surface-to-air missiles have been deployed by the Pentagon to many of the cities most likely to be targeted. In the fifties and sixties, this was de rigeur. We had fixed air defence sites around our major metropolitan areas (in the fifties there were even AA guns, like Berlin in WWII).
When ballistic missile defence is ready, it will certainly be deployed and stand on guard like the Nike-Herc, Nike-Ajax, and Bomarc (among others) did in bygone years.

My question to anyone viewing this thread:
Do you really think it's still possible to hijack an airplane? I don't give a damn if they've got UZIs with them. If they can still pull off hijacking a plane full of passengers given what we know about what happened on 9/11/2001, then this country no longer deserves to exist, because its people have become mindless and worthless drones incapable of rubbing 2 brain cells together.

What a comfort. Thank goodness they didn't go ahead with arming the majority of pilots. Somebody on the plane might get hurt.
