You're right in an overall sense, but I quit buying GE branded consumer products years ago anyway. My new range was broken on delivery, and was subsequently repaired twice more, their VCR died after 13 months, the dishwasher pump crapped out after two years - these are problems I haven't had with Maytag, Whirlpool, Sylvania, et al.

For what it's worth, a lot of GE-branded appliances these days are GE in name only. They just sell other companies the right to slap a GE logo on their own stuff.

Of course, if it's crap, it's crap, but once this Paul Harvey thing gets straightened out, if ever, make sure you determine the actual manufacturer of a given "GE" appliance before blaming GE.

Yeah, I know GE shouldn't be licensing their logo to to plastered all over substandard products in the first place, but at least GE actually still employs Americans in a lot of fields, so we shouldn't give them blanket condemnations, just partial ones.

78 - Generally Crap - GE - any company that allows its name on crap, is crap.

GE Employees Americans?

I haven't seen an American Made GE appliance in years, but I have unfortunately bought some of the GE crap. So, now I steer clear of GE, because even their GE crap is really crappy crap, even for chinese crap.
