When he took the stage to help celebrate Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's commitment to local government Thursday, Controller Steve Westly gazed at all the police and sheriff's deputies gathered around him and joked that he hadn't seen that many guns since the last Terminator movie.

Since when does Hollyweird make a movie that ends after one scene?

The Sacramento Bee. What a bunch of assholes.

"Hollywood ending"?!

Arnold has only been governor for ONE MONTH!!!!

Gee, I can't imagine, why he couldn't solve all the problems festering and growing for 5 years in one month. What is the matter with him?! (/sarcasm)

Yo, Weintraub, you hack. Gray Doofus signed over a thousand new laws into existence before he was unceremoniously run out of town. Why don't you do a story on how many new taxes and how much new government spending was made manifest by those laws.

Before his term is out, he will greatly reduce the operating costs of the state government by applying actual solutions to problems such as air and water pollution in lieu of the present reign of ineffectual bureaucracy, solutions will be found to the chronic water and energy shortages and vital new business will be attracted to California. On the other hand, maybe he'll listen to Warren Buffet.

I suspect but cannot prove that the reason the problem isn't being dealt with more aggresively, is that there is a "secret deal" whereby Cali gets a lot of Federal money.

Interesting theory... we'll wait and see.

What happened to Weintraub? The last few pieces he did on Arnold had really nasty tones where he had been pretty fair and objective during the recall itself.

Did one of Arnold's spending cuts hurt a personal pet cause of Weintraub's? Some extreme leftie editor reshaping his articles? It's very odd...

You need to get out and about more often. You need to keep up on the California news.

To date Schwarzenegger has not made a cut in the budget. Not a dime.

Last week Schwarzenneger did shuffle the costs around a bit, college students and welfare recipients now help subsidize the vehicle license fee but no budget reductions were realized, no cuts. We're still spending at the same rate.

You need to get out and about more often, too. You'd then realize that the DU'ers are also echoing your complaint that Arnold cut taxes and then slashed social services to make up for the reduced revenue.

Those poor, poor welfare recipients and subsidized college students :-(

Didn't complain that Schwarzenegger cut taxes. To date he hasn't cut a single tax. The California VLF remains at 2% just as it has since 1948.

Didn't even complain that he changed the priorities in budgeted subsidies. They were long overdue.

I only pointed out the misrepresentation you offered and politely suggested you study the issues before offering more inaccuracies.

You did it constantly during the recall campaign and we tolerated you as we do all guests to our California forum. But no more.

Republican loyalists are always welcome here but bring the facts with you or be prepared to be constantly embarrassed by your ignorance.

Hmmmm... instead of a higher bill the citizen gets a lower one. And folks who already paid the higher bills that started to go out can expect checks back. Yep, it depends on what the definition of "is" is or as the Dems like to insist, fees are not taxes.

And just cut the snide remarks, I am not a "guest" on your California forum and was not on the receiving end of good manners directed toward "Republican loyalists".

Yeah, but the DUers are still the last people on Earth who think Gray Davis was competent.

Not too many folks out there that believe he was competent... I bet even the union folks despised him but just couldn't stop propping up their gravy train.

As you probably noticed your personal attacks are going to be returned as quickly as you launch them.

You did the same thing during the recall campaign and it wasn't appreciated then either. Forum members repeatedly observed that every time a conservative challenged you with the facts, you attacked the messenger and refused to discuss the message. This time around your immature approach to participating on this forum is going to be served right back up to you.

As I noted earlier, you are welcome on the California forum, even thought you have no stake in the matter, as long as you deal with the facts and the issues. If you won't do the research or can't respond maturely, then I'd appreciate it if you'd pack your bags and go back to your home state or the RNC.

If you are headed back to the RNC, which I suspect, please take a message to Carl Rove.

California conservatives are tired of listening to the shills you've been sending out to the California forum. The liberal, in state media is already bad enough without adding their voices to the chorus. This is the California edition of the Free Republic Forum, not the Free Republican Forum. We are conservatives on this forum and not particularly associated with any political party. If you'd like our support try addressing our concerns.

Since you're concerned here with proper decorum,
and who should or shouldn't post on CA's forum,
please tell me kindly (if you think I rate)
just why you don't fly your supposed flag of state?
