"Seems to me this woman said some anti-American stuff..."

THAT was JESSICA Lange - not Hope Lange. Your posting is irresponsible.

"It was Jeff Goldblum who made his screen debut as one of the street punks who brutalize Hope Lange and her daughter in Death Wish. I'm sure he's real proud of that."

Oh Please...

Seems to me this woman said some anti-American stuff last year or late the year before overseas. Something about being ashamed to be an American (said in France, I believe).

That was Jessica Lange. Hope Lange was of the Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Bob Hope, Clark Gable, etc. generation. When Hollywood was pro-America, and patriotic, that is.

keep in mind they were "play-acting" and I'll bet in between takes they were all laughing, telling jokes, etc.

She was lovely...The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

I remember that show. Even though I was a young boy, I noticed that she was...not too shabby.

She was a very good actress, and certainly beautiful. Rest in peace.

Jessica Lange is looking pretty hagged out these days, but you couldn't mistake her for seventy.

Hey, I had forgotten about that "New Dick Van Dyke Show." It was set in Phoenix, as I recall My dad got see the New Dick Van Dyke Show back when it filmed at the Van Dyke Studios. I think it was just outside of Phoenix-- In Carefree.
At that time polo shirts weren't exactly as regular wear as they are now-a-days. My dad was near the front row wearing slacks and a polo shirt. Dick Van Dyke looked at him and quipped, "Are you playing through?"

At the time Goldblum came along, it was an apt piece of casting to have him appear next to the consummate ugly movie star, Bronson. It prepared us all for the homely lot that came after; anyway, with their clothes off it hardly matters.

Good story. Yes, and now that you mention it, Carefree sounds right. Thanks for posting.

Right, and you had a hangover the day they did hand-grenade drill too, I suppose.

A sweet classy blonde. One of a group of non-sexbomb type blonde-haired actresses, like Deborah Kerr, who I categorize as "The Lambs". Completely womanly without ever being coquettish.
