yep, I got 2 so far....

if you use outlook, left click to get "properties" on the email addy and you'll see its junk like "account_verification632@mail.com"

If you get a reply from earthlink tech support that looks like they actually read your email, it's likely a bogus reply! Beware!

I know what you're talking about.It was in my spam folder and that's what made me suspicious.I checked my online bank accoiunt and pulled up my recent check history.It showed the money already was credited to earthlink for that month.I called them and they said I was paid up.I got another email in my spam folder for this month again claiming the same thing.

I do not consider forged headers trivia!

I do not like getting "returned mail" that I did not send. Some of the email described in this thread is likely forged headers and not sent by the person identified in the email. It's a common problem.

I do not like getting emails from those who received the spam (with the viruses) sent out by miscreants using my email address. Maybe you like getting outraged emails. I don't. Megabytes of mail rejected by firewalls everyday! Not fun.

100 attempts to communicate with tech support was an exaggeration and perhaps most of the problem was with their "abuse" tech support and not routine problems. I sent examples of detailed header info each time just as their posted instructions directed.

After several of tries I tried asking for a supervisor's name. Finally I got a reponse. My next step was to email Garry Betty, CEO of EarthLink I believe. But, I'm still looking for his address -- for next time.

I've gotten two of those PayPal spoofs this week. Forwarded to real PayPal and they said the attachment is a virus - geez.

I got tired of all this garbage and just told Bell South to go ahead and publish my credit card # along with my address and phone number since I was going to commit suicide yesterday, anyway.
