Barring criminal charges or some egregious breach of protocol, incumbents seeking re-election count on the support of their political party.
This past weekend, however, there was a shocker: Assembly Member Nicole Parra, a Democrat, failed to earn a "pre-endorsement" from her own party.

There is a story about Mexicans and their proclivity to keep each other oppressed at their own expense. The story goes like this. Matter of fact, it goes exactly like this:
On an ocean pier, two men are fishing. One man has a bucket, half full of crabs. The other man notices that the crabs are trying to crawl out of the bucket and warns the man with the bucket of crabs that the crabs will escape. "Nothing to worry about my friend", replies the man with the bucket of crabs. "They're Mexican crabs. As soon as one gets high enough to get out, the others will pull him back down".
Hopefully, the bucket of Mexican socialists in the California crab bucket, known as the California Legislature, will continue to pull each other down.
I sense an implication in your reply that both Parra and Florez are of Mexican heritage.
If that's correct, I would suggest you check your facts.

Yes, admittedly, I did make that assumption, but the drift of the crab tale is no less applicable to Democrat's. BTW, if you think me a bigot because of the crab tale, be advised that my wife agrees with the story and she is a Mexican, a real Mexican. She was born in the high mountains of San Luis Potosi, and brought to the US, legally, by me as my wife. Do you have any problems with that, by implication?
Regards, Buck.
