Something that you just wrote made me think: if any of these kooks have nukes, nukes have a shelf-life? They must have fresh radioactive material or they won't blow up? In a way, that's good: the nukes that the soviets had will be going "bad" as time goes by. On the down side, the kooks may think they had better use them before they go bad.

Yes, Tritium does have a shelf life of about 3 years I believe...but that is only in a Nuke that uses neutron enrichment to increase the yield...usually on the big boys only.

A suitcase Nuke "PROBABLY" would not use a second stage enrichment source...I say probably because I do not know the extent of the Russian designs.
