Could someone explain to me why we need to Bash the security alert level being raised

Weather you like what ridge does or not or even pay attention to the alert level why would you bash something thats put there to try and help people be aware of dangerous situations

Its just a curiosity to me !

Bob Windrem on MSNBC said

... Meetings all day yesterday, secure telephone discussions all day today. This much chatter at any other time of the year would not cause an orange alert...

I'm with you. I personally think it is irresponsible to not take the alert program seriously. It is all we have and frankly the best the government can do to notify us of danger. I haven't heard of any other ideas and until I do I plan on respecting the program.

The real reason is that they are Johhny-One-Notes, who are angry at Mr. Ridge for not machine-gunning those (brown-skinned) women and children at the (Southern) border.

This would be why:

Guaranteed overtime pay for the unionized TSA drone always comes in handy this time of year.

No, they are not above scaring people needlessly to gain money and power.

Because it is a goofy system that conveys very little real information : it is like someone yelling "LOOK OUT" but not telling you WHAT to look out for!

Well, I guess they CAN'T be unPC enough to mention the most likely suspects.

My work receives those homeland defense notices and they are so vague that weather forecasters appear precise by comparison.

Because telling us this will not alter how we live our lives. It's purely cover your ass procedure. In case something happens they can say told you so.

If they do indeed know something it would be wise to see where the politicians in Washington are currently hanging out.

One or two days before 9/11, according to many sources, all scheduled plane trips by politicians were cancelled. Personally I'd love to know if that is true.

Because the amateur comedians have forgotten what it's like to lose 3,000 souls in an instant.

Really, there's nothing more disconcerting than opening up a thread like this and reading the all the moronic attempts at humor... as if we were invincible or something.

Showers, series, hugh... yeah, that's hilarious stuff people.
