I veared away from FR and was reading an Islamic website and they had prophets named with the Christian name next to the Islamic version in ( ).

The had a big thing on Mary and Jesus but called Jesus by another name.

Sounded like the Holy Bible with names changed I did not get into it to heavy should have bookmarked it though.

So does the Koran follow history and take a left turn at some point, kinda like the King James leaving out Books that the Catholic Bible has in it?

I know it can't be that simplistic.

The Muslims have many of the same event chronicled, as what's in the Bible.

One of their big holidays is Eid al Adha, in February :

"Eid al-Adha or Feast of Sacrifice is an important feast in the Muslim calendar. It concludes the Pilgrimage to Mecca.

Eid al-Adha lasts for three days and commemorates Ibraham's (Abraham) willingness to obey God by sacrificing his son. Muslims believe the son to be Ishmael rather than Isaac as told in the Old Testament. Ishmael is considered the forefather of the Arabs. According to the Koran, Ibrahim had a dream in which he was told to sacrifice his most valued possession, he sacrificed his favourite goat and his favourite sheep but the dream reoccurred. He realised the dream meant his son. His son said he must do as Allah commanded. He blind folded himself and sacrificed his son, a voice from heaven told him to look down and he realised he had sacrificed a ram instead. Allah told him it had been a test to see how much Ibrahim and Ishmael loved Allah.

The feast re-enacts Ibrahim's obedience by sacrificing a cow or ram. The family eats a third of the meal, a third is given to family and friends and the remaining third is given to the poor. There are prayers and sermons, mutual visiting of friends, lavish meals, and especially for children the giving of presents and the wearing of new clothes."
