I missed the conference too. Probably just as well because I'd have been on this thread getting ticked off at those who seem to see the worst in people rather than the best. It's one of the many reasons I so like this president and entire administration. They prefer to see the good in people and lift them up rather than tear people down.
And if something happens, we'll all be crying. I was alone on 9/11 as my husband left at 5:00 in the morning to poll manage. It was terrifying.
As far as Gulf War I, my stepson was over there and we were very frightened then as well. But proud. And no one knew we were scared as my husband and I only told each other about our fears. We believe strongly that parents must put up a good front for the kids; something that doesn't seem to happen today as often as it should.

my husband was in Africa on 9/11......just me and my two dtrs here....I worried so much for him to get back here safely....
